I wish episode7Aftermath!Asami was stretched out though the rest of the season. Her dislike for the Equalist, protectiveness of her father, and slight discrimination of benders that she portrayed in that episode would've been interesting for the season.

I still don't understand Amon's whole "It is almost a shame to take the bending of someone so talented" line. I mean, Mako's a good firebender, I suppose, but I've seen nothing spectacular about his bending that would warrant this comment from Amon, a bloodbending prodigy.

It’s because Mako is well on his way to becoming a sunbender next season. He’ll be able to generate balls and beams of plasma and it’s going to be awesome.

Noit’snot.

I'm not sure if this has been touched on yet, but being overprotective is a form of abuse. And I think it overprotective describes Mako perfectly. Not only does he want to have control over other people, but he wants to protect them as well. His intentions might be good (considering his past), but that doesn't excuse his problematic behavior. I think some people fail to see that abuse is so much more than physical.

This is true, and Edward Cullen is probably the best example of this in recent pop culture.

So apparently the Makorra "fandom" have moved to a new tag Makorra 2.0 this is ridicules. Defiantly Fandom Wank Worthy. If it were still around.

Is the #makorra 2.0 tag even working? Every time I look, I get a “page not found” and I suspect it’s because of that period…

Should someone tell them?

even i was rooting for makorra at the beginning, until asami's character got introduced. that was where i started to slowly back away from it. i hated how asami's character and arc, which had so much potential and did turn out to be one of the better ones on the show, was tainted and brought down by romance/mako. if they had only dropped the love triangle and introduced her in a different way, the entire show would be better for it. thinking about all the lost potential is just frustrating.

It seems like after ep 7, Brkye has been prepping up Mako boring/bland character. But they failed to convince me otherwise that he is anything but a real life douche. In ep. 9, he was the ONLY one to show great worry for Korra, Then in ep. 10, he basically starts showing affections for Korra like OUT OF FUCKING NOWHERE. Then in the finale, he's the hero who's able to withstand being bloodbent(even though the avatars couldn't) & Amon says he's sorry in taking this gifted firebender bending WTF?!

IMO, while Pema didn't mean any harm and wasn't expecting Korra and Mako to act like assholes, I still think that love advice of hers put her in a bad light. It was wrong of her to say such advice to a sheltered and impulsive girl who didn't have any experience when it comes to dating, and to tell said girl to treat this guy (read: asshole) she just met as her soul-mate. Still, I believe if Pema knew the whole situation, she wouldn't have said that shit and would tell Korra she can do better.

Are there any pro-Makorra arguments that make sense? (I'm not trying to be rude, I'm asking an honest question)

As a follow up to /post/26179009021/ I've seen that exact thing on my dash multiple times, like something along the lines of "stop hating on mako, at the end of the day, he's banging the avatar and you're not." Which really disgusts me. I've also seen gifsets of the "why you should ship Makorra" series and I kid you not, there was one that was saying that you should ship makorra since they both have great hair. Great justification on their part.

I do agree with the anon that said that Pema's advice collided with Korra's inexperience. I think its okay to confess to someone who is in a relationship as long as that's the only thing you're doing (no kissing). Confessing your feelings, even if you are going to be rejected, could help you move on.

True that. I think that the idea that sometimes you don’t always get the person you want is a good life lesson they could have touched on in episode five or even episode seven.
